Me in the Mirror

Christina Spaeth, 16

Me
in the mirror.
All I see
I hate.
My own worst enemy.

Hair too frizzy,
doesn’t cooperate.
Skin too pale,
another zit.
My own worst enemy.

Not thin enough,
thighs too big,
breasts too small,
legs too short,
arms too long.
My own worst enemy.

Whom do I see in the mirror?
My own worst enemy—
me.

JOURNAL: Gaze into a mirror, and imagine God gazing into your soul. Write down what God sees. The next time you look in the mirror and a thousand critical thoughts race through your mind, read this journal entry as a reminder of your true worth.
