Don’t Avoid Silence

Alexander Gernatt, 18

Silence gives you time to yourself. Whether you’re hiking alone or sitting in your room at night, silence allows you to contemplate your life and to focus on what is truly important.

I love to close my eyes and to listen to the silence around me. Yet, even in these times, I have never felt truly alone. No matter what I am going through, in the silence I always find refuge in God’s loving presence.

Don’t avoid silence. Use it as a time to be real with yourself and with God.
