What Are You Doing New Years?

Youth Workers, looking for a way to remember the old and ring in the new with your youth group? Try one of these ideas:

  • New Year’s Resolutions” — This “In the Habit” session allows some time to think about resolutions, as well as providing a creative liturgy for saying goodbye to the year past and welcoming the new year.
  • New Year’s Eve Watchnight “Owlah” Service — The Watchnight “Owlah” Service is designed to begin at 11:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and to end at or near midnight. The Hebrew word owlah means “burnt offering.” This service provides an opportunity to offer to God the struggles, sadness, guilt, and pain of the past year and to renew your covenant relationship with God as you begin the new year.

However you celebrate, the staff of devozine wishes for you a year filled with God’s blessings!
