"Every song starts off as a poem and every poem holds a story. Listen carefully to the lyrics of a song and let the artist read you a story. A poem by Lawrence Tribble was turned into a song by Leeland two years ago. I love this song because it's story can be interpreted in many ways and means so much. Yet the story behind it's lyrics would surprise you. This poem was written in the 1700s by Tribble and was a part of the "Patriots Handbook" by Doctor Grant. "The Great Awakening Revival," the chapter in which this poem is found, discusses two preachers, George Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards, who are leaders of this revival. Many will know this song's lyrics for this story, but don't hold back on making it your own story." – Torie, TAB Member
