Dark Moments

Emilly Odhiambo, 23

Poor sorrow,
make sure the daybreak doesn’t find you.
The Lord is about to intervene.
You pretended to be great in my dark moments,
but the Lord was greater.
Now my light is about to shine.
The Lord will wipe away my tears.

When the Lord intervenes,
the cords of death will break;
the anguish of the grave will fade.
God is gracious, righteous, full of compassion.
God will give me life again.
I will sing to the Lord,
“You are my refuge, my fortress,
my Lord in whom I trust.”
