STRAYING FROM THE PATH

Brian Roberts & Linda Shannon

Dear God in heaven, to you I pray.
I need your help; I’ve lost my way.
I’ve strayed from the path that leads to you.
Surrounded by lies, I can’t hear the truth.

My life has been full of ups and downs.
Somehow, somewhere, I got turned around.
This life I live isn’t living at all.
I try to stand, but again I fall.

Dear God in heaven, hear my cry.
In my sins, don’t let me die.
To you I look for knowledge and peace,
rest for my soul, for my spirit, ease.

My sins, I pray, please forgive.
No longer this way do I want to live.
Dear God in heaven, to you I pray.
I need your help; I’ve lost my way.

—Brian Roberts

And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Isaiah 30:21 (NRSV)

GOD HEARS AND ANSWERS:
You were spun from my seed.
You were woven from my image.
I love you greatly.
You fought hard against me.
You violated all my laws.
You strained toward the wrong prize.
You failed.
But I had a plan,
a plan not to harm you
but to restore you.
Even in your darkest hour,
I am with you, directing your steps,
protecting your way.
You are mine.
