The Strength of Sunrise

Jeanine Smith

Dear God,
Help me to know, when life seems dark,
that you are still with me.
Like the sun on the other side of the world at night,
you are still shining.

Though I sit in the darkness, the Lord will be my light.
Micah 7:8b (NIV)

Even though the skies are dark,
help me to know that morning will come.
Just as the light brings warm colors at sunrise,
you will warm and brighten my life.

Yes, Lord, I can clearly say,
“No matter what darkness I may face,
your light shines peace and strength and beauty,
and I know that all is well with you.”

Get up before daylight tomorrow and watch the sunrise. Write about how you experience God as the light breaks through the darkness of night.
