My best friend and I both suffer from depression. We both cut and have taken a pledge not to cut but instead to lift each other up and keep the other accountable . We are both Christians, but his faith is not as strong as mine. Prayers for strength and love and to know that we aren’t alone.

You are most definitely not alone. Depression is also nothing to be ashamed of. I’m glad you & your friend could reach out to each other for help. Consider reaching out to your parents or a trusted adult as well. Prayers & love are being sent your way.

Praying for you and your friend. God is with you both in these times of life. Remember that there is hope behind every horizon, and a new dawn behind every storm … Keep the faith, continue to hope.

Depression is often caused by hormonal imbalance. I suffered severe depression for over two years (to the point I was afraid I would commit suicide) and had a hormone shot and was back to normal in hours. If your family can take you to an endocrinologist, it may be of help to you. I will keep you and your friend in prayer. Keep trusting in God to help you.

I have gone through a similar thing. I told no one except one of my friends. Finally, my parents found out and they talked to me from 8:00 to 12:00. They have helped me get through my depression. They have gotten me counseling, and it is going well. I know what you and your friend are going through. You both are in my prayers.

I have a friend who had the same difficulties that you do. Remember that you are not as alone as you feel. God is always there and your friends are too; just remember to look. There will always be someone for you to lean on, even in the darkest of times. Stick with your friend and let him lean on you; be his hope. You will be in my prayers.
