Post a Prayer Request

Lauren

Please pray for me. I am 16 years of age, and I see all these happy couples in school and it makes me sad. I just want somone to love me for me, like my God does. I know i am not alone, I have my God. It’s weird though I seem to still feel lonely….

Please someone respond.

I know how you feel, but maybe the person for you doesn’t go to your school. There is someone out there waiting for you. Be patient; place your heart in the hands of God. He will place it in the hands of a man who he believes deserves it.

Hello Lauren. Just was randomly surfing and found the site and your post. It’s totally normal to feel what your feeling. I’m a Christian too and I didn’t have a girlfriend until this year (unless you count the one that I had in kindergarten, but that’s another story), and I’m 26. Loneliness was definitely something that I had to deal with, and at times it was really, really, tough. But I will say that you have a bright road ahead, and now is the time to use the extra time in your singleness to find and develop yourself as well as your relationship with God. You will find someone, and he will be amazing, just you wait! Run with excellence, and rock on.

Perhaps your feelings stem from seeing all these “happy couples” at school. However, many of these young people may make mistakes that will haunt them the rest of their lives. I recommend enjoying your teen years, without worrying about romance. There will be plenty of time to learn and grow in that area. Peace!

I can honestly relate to you. I feel the same way. I see couples and just yearn for some guy to love me for me. You just keep waiting, girl. God’s got your right guy picked out specially for you. I understand how hard it is to wait, Lauren. Know this: God is the ONLY One who will truly satisfy you. I know that some things appear to satisfy us, (like dating and so on) but they really don’t truly satisfy. They only satisfy temporarily. I know loneliness like the back of my hand, but what gets me through is writing and just coming clean with God and allowing myself to pour out my heart and emotions to Him–He can take it. Sometimes this doesn’t help me, though, and I just have to live through the pain, with His help. I admit, it does take time to get through these valleys of loneliness, and I admit that I am still struggling myself. But as a sister in Christ, I say to you: Don’t be discouraged, Lauren! Don’t give up. Don’t lose hope in God and in the right guy for you. Remember, God’s timing is always perfect. He knows what is best for us. I wish I could be right there by your side to encourage and comfort you, but please know that I really do care about you and your situation. God is the shoulder that you can cry on, the ear to listen to your prayers, the arms that you can fall into, and the Love that’s always there. God be with you, Lauren. Sincerely, Chelsey.

God totally has a plan for you. Sometimes we only see the moment, but God sees the whole picture. Right now it might be tough but always keep in mind that the person God is saving for you will encourage you in your walk with Him. “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) I’ll be praying for you =)
