Best Friends

Chad Carroll, 15

friends FTR TSP 119582314Some people say that guys and girls can’t be best friends. They can be going out, or they can be friends; but they cannot be best friends. I disagree. My two best friends are girls. We’ve been friends for a long time, and we do a lot of cool stuff together. If I’m having girl trouble, I know where to turn. My friends explain to me why girls do the things they do or feel the way they feel. They help me understand, and sometimes they even talk to the girl that I’m having problems with. I do the same for them. I think it’s great to have best friends of the opposite sex.

A friends loves at all times.
Proverbs 17:17a (NIV)

The next time people say to you, “Girls and guys can’t be best friends,” tell them they’re wrong. In fact, having best friends of the opposite sex is great!

“The great renewal of the world will perhaps consist in this, that man and maid, freed of all false feelings and reluctances, will seek each other not as opposites, but as brother and sister, as neighbors, and will come to together as human beings.”
