Clear the Clutter

Heather Tekavec

My rule for eliminating clutter is that five things a day have to go into the garbage, a charity box, or a “for sale” pile. Over time, the five-a-day rule gives me space to move, makes things easier to find, and wastes less of my time cleaning and organizing.

The best thing about the rule is that it makes me think twice before taking on new stuff. Cleaning up my spiritual life is a little harder to do, but changing my negative attitudes and behaviors make my space for God more inviting.
