Friends at School

Erin Perry

Sometimes it’s hard to feel God’s presence in school. No matter how beautiful the day is or how close we are to God, once we walk through those doors, God seems to be far away. But God is always with us—even at school.

Some people at school cuss and fight. Some don’t seem to care about anything. Others seem to think that the world revolves around them. But there are also Christians at school and people who are just plain nice. These are my friends. Being with people who have values and beliefs like mine helps me to feel the presence of God at school. Often we talk about things from a Christian point of view. Sometimes we talk about people who need our prayers and about what is going on at our churches. We talk about right and wrong and try to do what is right. Because I have wonderful friends at school, I know that God does come inside the walls of the school building.

I pray that he will help you live at peace with each other, as you follow Christ. Then all of you together will praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:5b-6 (CEV)

PRAY: Ask God to bless everyone at your school so that they will feel the presence of God.
