Hit “Play” to Get in Gear

Taylor Gerlach & Torie Seagraves

Taylor Gerlach Belize IMG_6170On a mission trip in Belize, I learned the power of music as a constant reminder of God’s love. After returning from the trip, I began playing Christian music throughout my day: while working on homework, showering, doing chores, driving—all the time.

So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives.
1 Peter 1:13 (The Message)

How many times has a song run through your mind and you cannot chase it out? It happens to me all the time. Music has a way of seeping into my mind and staying there, so why not make the songs uplifting? Filling my mind with the sounds of Jesus is one way I “put my mind in gear” each day. Find a song that reminds you of God’s love, and add it to your current playlist of favorites.

iheartradio_1CREATE A PLAYLIST: I don’t have a Bible app, but I do have the iHeart Radio app. I use it to create my customized Christian playlist. Whenever I feel upset or need a faith reminder, I turn on my playlist and instantly feel better. Music is my favorite and most effective way to worship God.
