Rely on God

Adelee Russell, 22

On September 1, 2013, my dad committed suicide. After receiving the horrible news, I had a choice to make. I could get angry and run from God; or I could surrender, rely on God’s faithfulness, and ask for God’s wisdom. I chose surrender; and God sustained me, carrying me through my grief.

During this time, I realized that God doesn’t orchestrate the evil in the world. God doesn’t rejoice in our pain. When we grieve, God grieves with us. God promises to bring good from bad situations if we surrender them to God’s will.
