All Saints Day

stained glass saintNovember 1st is All Saints Day, a day to remember, honor, and celebrate the lives of those who have been important to us and to the world.

Who are the saints in your life? Who taught you about God? Who introduced you to Christ? Who has shown you how to live out your faith? Take some time today to remember these saints.

Here are some ideas to help you observe this day and discover ways to practice remembering:

  • Learn more about the meaning of this day that calls us to remember those who have died and to remember that dying is not the end.
  • Find a meaningful way to practice remembering family members, friends, or community leaders who have died this year so that you carry them in your heart in the year ahead.
  • With your family, friends, or youth group, read “A Litany for All Saints” or pray a prayer for All Saints Day and reflect on the many saints who have made this world a better place.
  • Add to your daily devo time the practice of consulting a calendar of saints to learn more about one or more of the saints who are celebrated and remembered each day.
