Spiritual Practice

When you lie on the ground and look at the stars, in that moment, everything fades except God’s power. All the concerns of the day are gone.

Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Isaiah 40:26 (NIV)

Take some time with God and the stars God created. The Bible says that God named each star. God placed the stars perfectly in the sky, and not one star is missing from this masterpiece. God cares enough to name and to keep track of all these lights in the sky, but God’s love for us is even greater. God knows our names. More significant: God knows exactly where we are. God knows our fears, dreams, and plans. God knows more about us than anyone else does; we don’t even know ourselves that well.

The clearest picture of God’s power is in creation. People have built buildings, reached scientific milestones, created technology; but human creations cannot hold a candle to God’s creation.
