Each Tear a Prayer
Shedding tears makes our hearts feel lighter. When I was overwhelmed with the stress of school, upset about social situations, or grieving a loss, I found comfort when I cried.
But crying was only a release of pressure. My true comfort came from God. Crying, I cast my burdens on the Lord. Each tear that rolled down my cheek was a prayer lifted to God. Whether I was asking, “Why?” or telling God, “It’s unfair,” I could sense that God cared for me and wanted to walk with me through the darkness.
God drew me close when I was vulnerable and couldn’t make it on my own. While tears may be the safety valve of the heart, God is the healer.
