Spiritual Practice

Hannah Beaven & Olivia Connolly

I see you, a hopeless look in your eyes.
I see how you can’t stop asking, “Why?”
I see the tears dripping down your face.
I see you, drowning in shame and disgrace.

I need you to know that you’re never too far gone.
I need you to know that he’s waiting with open arms.
You can believe that you’re forgiven and loved
Always and forever by the One who reigns above.

I see you trying hard to hide the pain.
I see you struggling day after day.
I see you shaking off the sleepless nights.
I hear you asking, “Why do I even try?”

I need you to know that you’re not alone.
I need you to know that there is still hope.
You can leave your burdens at the feet of Christ.
You can trust him to resurrect your life.

—Hannah Beaven, 18

SEEK FORGIVENESS: So you messed up. We all have. But Christ offers us a fresh start.

  • Confess what you have done. God knows all about you and loves you anyway. Thank God for forgiveness in Christ.
  • Make things right. Consider how your words or actions have affected others. Apologize and ask for forgiveness.
  • Forgive yourself. We don’t have to stay mired in guilt and regret. God wants us to live in grace.

—Olivia Connolly, 21
