Spiritual Practice

Angelina Palumbo & Isabelle Billnitzer

I don’t know where I’m going, Lord.
I don’t know what I’ll do.
But I’ll keep on moving forward,
And I’ll keep on trusting you.

I know your plans are good,
And I know your way is right.
So I’ll put my trust in you,
And keep you in my sight.

When the world is against me,
Please remind me that you care.
When I feel deserted and alone,
Please show me that you’re there.

When I feel like giving up,
Please help me to go on.
Please give me courage, Jesus,
And help me to be strong.

—Angelina Palumbo, 18

You were called to this kind of endurance, because Christ suffered on your behalf. He left you an example so that you might follow in his footsteps.
1 Peter 2:21 (CEB)

LEAN ON JESUS: When I feel deserted by loved ones, betrayed by those I trusted, or anxious about the future, I know I am not alone. Jesus experienced all of these emotions and knows how we feel. Our suffering can help us begin to understand the pain Jesus suffered for us and how deeply he cares for us. In difficult times, we can lean on Jesus, trusting him for strength to carry on.
