Spiritual Practice

Jessica Lippe, 22

Sometimes, I start to pray and my mind goes blank. When that happens, I lose the chance to lift up others in prayer and to work on my own relationship with God.

Recently, I created a prayer wall. I hung up pictures of missionary families, persecuted Christians, and orphans that I sponsor. Whenever I see the pictures, I choose a couple of the people and lift them up in prayer. Usually I end up praying for more of them, so the prayer wall is a great way to jump-start my prayers when my mind goes blank.

Everyone has different ways of praying; but for me, having a visual reminder to pray is an easy way to start my prayers and to improve my walk with God.

“Please pray to the Lord our God for us.”
Jeremiah 37:3b (NIV)
