Spiritual Practice

Julia Grant, 22

You will be the one I love.
No room will come between us;
we will be inseparable.
Many may try,
but nothing they say
could make me change
the way I feel about you.
My choice remains the same:
You will be the one I love.

Everything you say
will be enough.
Though my heart may not agree
with the faith inside of me,
I know I can trust you
to be the one I love.

You will be
the one who completes me.
You will see
my ugly sides,
and still you will delight in me.
You will be
the one who knows me,
who sees and hears me fully
and still is dying to be with me.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
Deuteronomy 6:5 (NRSV)

You will be the one I love,
whose promises I cling to,
whose voice I fall asleep to,
whose presence pulls me forward,
who keeps me wanting more.
You will be the one
I find when I walk through the door.
You will be the one
my heart longs for.
My God, my first and greatest love,
you will be the one.
